Student Employment Opportunities at the CFLC
Tutors at the Connors Family Learning Center are undergraduate and graduate students in high academic standing and have been recommended to the CFLC by their professors. All tutors at the Connors Family Learning Center are CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified or in the process of becoming CRLA certified.

Writing Tutor
The Connors Family Learning Center is hiring Writing tutors with prior experience to join our peer tutoring staff. Our center tutors over 60 subjects including writing. Ìý Writing tutors work with students across the university’s various colleges and departments.Ìý As a peer tutoring center, we work with our tutors’ busy class schedule.Ìý We are open 6 days a week with hours available everyday except Saturdays.Ìý
The responsibility of a writing tutor is to help students become better writers.Ìý The tutor helps the student find their own voice, and engage in the writing process.Ìý Tutors work with students at all stages of the writing process from helping them clarify the essay prompt, going over rough drafts or brainstorming. Ìý The tutor helps with suggestions for clarity and organization, not editing.ÌýÌýÌýÌý

Peer Tutor
Peer Tutor candidates must have at least a B+ in the course(s) they wish to tutor, as well as two °¬¿ÉÖ±²¥recommendations.
Proctor
The Proctoring position is for Graduate Students only. It requires in person monitoring of student exams during the regular semester as well as the final exam period. Proctoring shifts are set up at the beginning of the semester for the duration of the semester. During the final exam period, proctors must work their regular semester shift and commit to two additional shifts during final exams.
