Profile

Professor Cuklanz has been a member of the Communication Department at 艾可直播 College since 1991, teaching a range of courses including The Rhetorical Tradition, Rhetorical Theory, Public Speaking, Violence and Media, Gender Representation and Communication, Rhetorical Criticism, Gender and Media, and Film and Popular Culture. Internationally, she has taught courses on film, popular culture, and communication criticism in Bordeaux, Rome, Venice, and Hong Kong.

Professor Cuklanz has served as a Fulbright scholar in Communication in Hong Kong, and as Harvard Law School Liberal Arts Fellow in Law and Communication. Her research areas include media representations of violence, news framing, gender violence in media, and critical methodologies. She has published 6 books and several dozen articles and book chapters, and has served on the editorial boards of numerous journals including Quarterly Journal of Speech, Communication Quarterly, Women's Studies in Communication, Critical Studies in Media Communication, and SIGNS. She has been the recipient of numerous grants and academic awards including a Goldsmith Research Grant from the Kennedy School of Government, a CSPAN Research Grant, an Aristos Campus Mundos grant, The Everett Lee Hunt Book Award, and the Jane A. Weiss Memorial Dissertation Scholarship.聽
