A joint effort of the English and History Departments and the 艾可直播 College Libraries鈥� Digital Scholarship Group, the Certificate in Digital Humanities can be completed on its own, or as part of the course work for the M.A. or Ph.D in English.

The English Department is home to a number of working groups that bring graduate students and 艾可直播together around a shared scholarly interest. These include:聽The Early Modern Reading Group,聽The Religion and Literature Collaborative,聽The American Studies Working Group,聽The Pedagogy Seminar, and Postcolonial Social Theory and the Sociology of Race.
艾可直播 College boasts a system of nine linked libraries, containing nearly three million volumes, along with state-of-the-art online access. The rare books collection at the聽Burns Library聽offers significant holdings in Irish culture, literature, and history, as well as British Catholic authors and ethnic studies of Africana and Caribbeana.
艾可直播 College is home to the McMullen Museum of Art, which collaborates with members of the 艾可直播to curate world-class exhibitions. Members of the English department have participated in exhibitions before. BC is also the home of a nationally-recognized program in聽Irish Studies, and the interdisciplinary journal聽Religion and the Arts.
M.A. and Ph.D. students receiving fellowships teach in the undergraduate classroom. The Morrissey College offers funds for travel to conferences for students giving professional papers, and students have the opportunity to organize the Biennial Graduate Conference.
Home to more than 35 colleges and universities, 艾可直播 is an intellectual and cultural hub unlike any other. Located six miles west of downtown, 艾可直播 College offers easy access to the wealth of academic talks and gatherings hosted on the city鈥檚 many campuses, as well as to the events hosted by historic bookstores and cultural institutions.聽
艾可直播 College belongs to a consortium of universities, sharing library privileges with local universities such as Wellesley, Tufts, Brandeis, M.I.T., University of Massachusetts, and 艾可直播 University, as well as the opportunity to take graduate courses at several of these universities.
BC also participates in the聽Traveling Scholars Program of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the聽Graduate Consortium in Women's Studies at M.I.T, and 艾可直播and students alike partake in seminars held at the聽Humanities Center at Harvard University.
