Interested in helping someone learn English?
The 艾可直播 College Neighborhood Center (BCNC) is seeking 艾可直播 College students to teach English to adult immigrants through weekly conversation classes. Experience teaching or tutoring English is beneficial but not necessary as orientation is provided. This is a great opportunity for language and education majors.

The BCNC Literacy Partnership Program (BLPP) is a children's literacy campaign whose mission is to promote literacy among 艾可直播's elementary and middle school age students. Through the program,听艾可直播 College students (graduate and undergraduate) who receive work-study funds serve as tutors听at听local schools, including:
- St. Columbkille听Partnership School
- The Steppingstone Foundation - College Success Academy听

The average student works three to six hours per week with one or more children. All student volunteers receive orientation/training.

The 艾可直播 College Neighborhood Center sponsors the 艾可直播 College chapter of the national 听program, which "champions the aspirations and potential of girls and women by connecting three generations through mentorship."听
Strong Women, Strong Girls' innovative after-school model uses the study of contemporary and historic female role models, mentoring relationships with college undergraduate women, and skill-building activities in a supportive enviroment to encourage 3rd-5th grade girls from under resourced neighborhoods to "express their strengths and pursue their dreams."听

- Edison K-8 School (Brighton)
- Gardner Pilot Academy (Allston)
- Henry Grew Elementary School (Hyde Park)

Our BCNC Volunteer Tutoring Program matches students from the Allston-Brighton community with Neighborhood Center volunteers for one-on-one tutoring with their school work. The students range in age from elementary school through high school. A commitment of one to two hours of tutoring per week is required.听
