艾可直播 College is welcoming 63 full-time 艾可直播members this academic year, one of the largest such cohorts in recent memory, according to University administrators鈥攁nd one that also reflects key objectives in BC鈥檚 efforts to recruit outstanding scholars.
鈥淭his year鈥檚 new 艾可直播cohort is not only among the biggest but also the most diverse and accomplished,鈥� said Vice Provost for Faculties Billy Soo. 鈥淭hese remarkable additions to our 艾可直播during one of the most competitive labor markets in memory is a testament to the attractiveness of 艾可直播 College and the efforts of our deans and 艾可直播in bringing them to campus.鈥�
Almost half of BC鈥檚 new hires are 艾可直播of color, including 13 Black faculty, both all-time highs, noted Soo. Eleven of the new 艾可直播members are Asian and six are Hispanic.
Six of the new 艾可直播are filling endowed chairs鈥攊mportant benchmarks of academic excellence in and of themselves, Soo pointed out; half are women and half are 艾可直播of color.
Yet another key development cited by Soo is the arrival of two 艾可直播members at the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society, a multi-disciplinary, collaborative research center addressing critical societal issues in the areas of energy, health, and the environment, and the centerpiece of BC鈥檚 new state-of-the-art science facility at 245 Beacon Street.
鈥淲e are delighted to welcome our 63 new 艾可直播members to the University community, and the expertise and experience they bring with them,鈥� said Soo. 鈥淭hey will play an enormous role in helping BC fulfill its academic and formational mission.鈥�
