Biography
Professor Franzino specializes in American literature and culture, disability studies, and the medical humanities. At 艾可直播 College, she teaches a range of courses in literature and writing. Prior to coming to BC, she taught at Macalester College and Beloit College; she has also taught writing in a program for aspiring medical school applicants. She has held research fellowships at institutions including the American Antiquarian Society, the 艾可直播 Athenaeum, and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Her current book project explores how Civil War writing鈥攆rom government regulations, to hospital newspapers, to 鈥渕endicant鈥� texts sold for their authors鈥� economic support鈥攔eflected and performed new understandings of disability in nineteenth-century America.
