In its Decree on Ecumenism, the Second Vatican Council identified the restoration of Christian unity as a primary concern, emphasizing the special ties of sacraments, theology, and spirituality that hold the Catholic and Orthodox Churches in unique closeness. 聽聽This lecture reflects on the progress of this ecumenical dialogue in the U.S. since its official beginning in 1965. 聽This dialogue is a sobering yet hopeful commentary on a practical aspect of preaching and living the Gospel, acknowledging divisions, as well as the possibility of moving beyond them. 聽聽聽
