East Coast Technology & Entrepreneurship Council听
BCTEC on the East Coast offers one signature program each semester in both 艾可直播 and New York City that features speakers of interest to a wide variety of alumni working in related fields. Along with these formal events they also host several casual gatherings each year called 鈥淭ech on Tap鈥� where alumni gather to network and meet. In addition,we partner with the Shea Center for Entrepreneurship each Fall for 鈥淭echTrek,鈥� a program for BC students who 鈥榯rek鈥� to New York and beyond to tour technology companies and meet with alumni.

The WePay Story with Co-founder Bill Clerico '07

The 艾可直播 College Technology and Entrepreneurship Council (BCTEC) had an inspiring and personal conversation featuring Bill Clerico 鈥�07. Along with Richard Aberman 鈥�07, Bill founded WePay, an early fintech pioneer, after graduating from BC and grew the company to over $100M in revenue. In 2017, J.P. Morgan Chase acquired WePay. Bill is now an active investor, board member, and advisor to entrepreneurs and early-stage technology companies.

Health Tech in 2021 and Beyond: Innovation, Opportunities, Challenges

The 艾可直播 College Technology and Entrepreneurship Council (BCTEC) hosted an online event featuring Michael Pellini '87, managing partner of Section 32, a venture capital fund investing at the frontiers of technology, health care and life sciences, and Elizabeth O'Day '06, CEO and founder of Olaris, Inc., a precision medicine company. Together they explored emerging trends in health care, with special emphasis on the impact on the pandemic. Topics discussed include innovation in health care, emerging technologies, ways in which companies are bringing solutions to market faster, and the challenges and opportunities created with the acceleration of innovation.

Virtual Tech on Tap: How Alumni are Powering BC Entrepreneurship

The 艾可直播 College Technology and Entrepreneurship Council (BCTEC) invites you to engage with three BC alumni who launched their own companies with funding help from SSC Venture Partners, a group of BC alumni who are paying it forward to empower BC alumni founders through seed stage venture fund investing. This online program will feature entrepreneurs in all stages of business development whose companies range from biodesign to real estate software to designer charcuterie. Breakout rooms featuring our presenters will take place after the presentation.
Presenters include听Alex Lorestani 鈥�09, PhD., co-founder and CEO of Geltor, a biodesign company,听Gilli Rozynek, founder of Kured, a charcuterie business, and听Branick Weix 鈥�19, CEO of Aryeo, a real estate software platform.听Miguel Galvez 鈥�12, BCTEC Co-Chair and co-founder and president of NBD Nano, will serve as the moderator.
Virtual Tech on Tap: Navigating a Changing Tech Job Market

The 艾可直播 College Technology and Entrepreneurship Council (BCTEC) hosted a Tech on Tap online networking event that featured The Bowdoin Group's听, managing director, software and technology, and听, principal. Paul and Rachel gave an overview of the labor market in the innovation economy and the impact of COVID-19 on the tech job market. The presentation was followed by Q&A and some time to meet in small groups.
Paul Manning, Managing Director, Software & Technology听
Paul Manning has 29 years of leadership search experience working with high-growth, VC/PE-backed, and founder-led technology. At The Bowdoin Group, he built out the firm鈥檚 software and technology vertical. While he specializes in heads of engineering, product strategy, and product management, including CTOs, SVPs of engineering, and CIOs, Paul has also successfully completed C-level and strategic searches for CFOs, CROs, SVPs of global marketing, SVP of HR, and VP sales roles. Prior to joining The Bowdoin Group, Paul founded and served as managing director at Open Solutions, a boutique technology search firm. Paul holds a BA from Roger Williams University.听
Rachel Kohn, Principal听
Rachel Kohn is responsible for leading searches predominantly within the software and tech and digital health practices. In her role at The Bowdoin Group, Rachel attracts, recruits, and evaluates individuals for senior-level strategic and executive searches while managing existing and developing new client relationships nationwide. She has worked on numerous product, finance, and marketing/sales leadership roles during her time at the firm, including the SVP of product management at Interactions, the CFO at Gym Launch, and the chief growth officer at Tamr. Rachel holds a BA and an MBA from Tulane University.听

West Coast Technology & Entrepreneurship Council听
BCTEC on the West Coast gathers alumni across Silicon Valley together for industry-leading conversations twice a year. In addition to topical discussions with alumni leaders, there is an annual event in the Spring, 鈥淭echTrek鈥� where BC students from the Shea Center for Entrepreneurship 鈥榯rek鈥� to the West Coast to tour technology companies and meet with alumni at a yearly reception. Along with connecting 艾可直播 in Northern California, the BCTEC community is growing its presence in the Silicon Beach area, hosting an annual event to gather Southern California alumni.
