They came from 43 colleges and universities for the Deloitte FanTAXtic regional case-study competition. And one of the 60 teams from those schools emerged on top: a five-member group of undergraduates from the Carroll School of Management.
The student tax competition鈥攁 mix of case simulation, role playing, and presentations鈥攖ook place at Deloitte鈥檚 downtown 艾可直播 offices, November 11鈥�13.
鈥湴芍辈� College demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively to solve a complex business case simulation,鈥� Deloitte said in announcing the results. 鈥淭he team was also recognized for the quality of their overall presentation to a panel of live and virtual judges using the organization鈥檚 video conferencing capabilities.鈥�
The accounting students will now go to Deloitte鈥檚 national learning and leadership development center, near Dallas, for the national event January 13鈥�15. There, they鈥檒l compete with the winners of eight other regional contests for more than $50,000 in individual scholarships and institutional awards.
The five are: Andrew Breckel 鈥�17, Nikita Patel 鈥�17, Ellen Ubl 鈥�17, Marissa Cohen 鈥�19, and Ryan Pierpont 鈥�19. With them all the way was Edward Taylor, 艾可直播advisor and lecturer in accounting.
