Urban Outreach Initiatives
Creating a more just world requires training transformational educators who prioritize social justice and equity in classrooms and organizations. Our Office of Urban Outreach Initiatives (UOI) oversees several key programs dedicated to preparing tomorrow鈥檚 change agents. UOI efforts include the Donovan Urban Teaching Scholars program and the Mental Health Urban Scholars program.
Donovan Urban Teaching Scholars Program
As part of an intensive one-year M.Ed. program that leads to licensure, Donovan Urban Teaching Scholars learn how to flourish as K鈥�12 teachers in urban schools听through a curriculum that听prioritizes critical inquiry, social justice education, and community building.
The Mental Health Counseling Urban Scholars Program builds on the Mental Health Counseling curriculum and clinical training. It will prepare you to work effectively with clients and partners in urban communities, including community mental health centers, public hospitals, and community-based clinics.
Throughout your first year, you will receive unique training and monthly seminars on serving clients within urban clinical contexts. In the second year of the program, you will participate in a practicum in an urban mental health setting.

Collaborative Partnerships
Urban Outreach Initiatives is involved in several partnerships with 艾可直播 College offices, Donovan Scholar alumni, and local and national efforts that impact diversity and inclusion within our urban schools and communities.
Our intent is to develop unique collaborations that allow diverse students' voices to be heard and their change agency recognized.听
