°¬¿ÉÖ±²¥ Marathon bombing survivors Patrick Downes ’05 (Human Development) and Jessica Kensky awarded the first scholarship from a fund created by Downes’s classmates in a campus ceremony in October. The first recipient of the is Carroll School of Management sophomore Jack Manning, who lost his leg to cancer and now volunteers to support and mentor young patients who face the prospect of losing limbs.

James Kale ’16 (Applied Psychology and Human Development), M.Ed. ’17 (Curriculum and Instruction and Donovan Urban Teaching Scholar), was selected to be a Fulbright Scholar and is in Petrolina, Pernambuco, Brazil in spring 2018.

Kristen Renn, Ph.D. ’98 (Higher Education), a professor of Educational Administration at Michigan State University, was named the recipient of the AERA Distinguished Contributions to Gender Equality in Education Research Award.  Â
