What is Motivational Interviewing?
A collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. It is designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) can be effective in promoting vaccine uptake because it addresses ambivalence and resistance in a way that fosters open, non-judgmental dialogue, allowing individuals to explore their own reasons for getting vaccinated.Ìý
The Method of Motivational Interviewing follows four processes:ÌýEngaging, focusing evoking, and planning
