Karen Pounds

Profile

Dr. Karen Pounds’ specialty is psychiatric mental health nursing. She has 15 years of teaching experience, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. Her area of research is focused on the therapeutic relationship and communication between patient and nurse. Dr. Pounds has been a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist for 40 years and her practice has been in just about every setting. She holds a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island, a Master of Science degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from °¬¿ÉÖ±²¥ College and a Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island.
